I am a greenwood worker based in Ceredigion, Wales. I have been using green woodworking methods to produce furniture since 2008.
I found my way to Green Woodwork while studying Sustainable Woodland Management at Worcester University. I began by volunteering at Clissett Wood with renowned furniture maker and teacher Gudrun Leitz. I went on to spend more than ten years working with and learning from Gudrun. I have gained a practical knowledge of woodland management through the work I’ve done with skilled coppice worker Paul Morton at Moreton Wood. My passion is in using the greenwood craft as a form of therapy. I volunteer with CardiShed in the centre of Cardigan. Promoting wellbeing and challenging isolation and loneliness through the sharing of skills. I am also working alongside Silber CIC in Pembrokeshire delivering green woodwork courses to disadvantaged people in West Wales. As well as teaching I offer my own commissions making unique functional pieces of work that embrace the natural beauty of timber and the craft of using hand tools. |
